RE/MAX honoured with PRISM award for excellence in service

RE/MAX of Southern Africa was awarded a Silver PRISM Award at the Public Relations Institute of South Africa’s annual awards for PR Excellence in Johannesburg on March 26.

The trophy, according to a group media release, was the first awarded to a South African real estate group in the 11-year history of the awards. RE/MAX also received the highest honour in the category of Best Public Relations for an Existing Service. RE/MAX Marketing and Finance Director Jeanne van Jaarsveldt shared the award with Marcus Brewster, CEO of Marcus Brewster Publicity (MBP).

Earlier this year RE/MAX became the first South African real estate group to record an annual sales turnover of more than R20 billion. Further honours were also bestowed on the 204-office group with the “Best Company in the Real Estate Sector for 2008” award by the B2B publication. B2B conducts the annual survey of Top 500 South Africa’s Best Companies.

The PRISM awarded to RE/MAX followed after the group’s well-received hi-jacking survey initiative last year, conceived by PR agency, MBP, and resulted in 120 articles across print, national television and cyber media setting an all-time record of unique visitors to the RE/MAX website.

“The campaign’s strategic objectives was to re-introduce RE/MAX to SA media and position the company as ‘realtor for the people’, says Van Jaarsveldt, adding that “its purpose had been well achieved.”
