Spanish properties a big hit at Q-Rex

DOHA: Properties in Spain proved a hit with buyers at the 4th Qatar Real Estate and Investment Exhibition (Q-Rex 2009) at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre with 50 percent of the properties on offer were sold out, according to a Spanish official.
“This is because prices of properties in Spain have reached the lowest level ever providing a good opportunity for investment,” Juan Gomez Garcia, Director of International Operations at the Qatar-based Spanish International Trading and Business Centre (SITBC) told The Peninsula yesterday.
Besides, some Qatari business houses have shown keen interest to invest in Spanish hotels and resorts with discussion underway to finalize these deals.
More than 194 projects of renowned developers from various regions of Spain and a large number of hotels were showcased at the event.
Rafael Ubeda Ramal, Vice-President of Almeria Chamber of Commerce told this paper that there are many possibilities to increase business and trade between Spain and Qatar.
He said that in the last couple of years Spanish companies have seen tremendous growth which made it possible to look for opportunities in this part of the world.
