South African property still popular with foreign buyers - South Africa - foreign investors

South African real estate agents are confident that the property market in the country will remain popular, even though the football World Cup is over.

According to Adrian Goslett, regional director and chief executive officer of RE/MAX Southern Africa, the hosting of the tournament in the country has done much to raise its profile and improve perceptions held by potential overseas buyers.

Mr Goslett explained that this had translated into an increase in interest in owningproperty in South Africa.

He added: "We think it's fairly early to gauge the level of foreign interest in our property portfolio after the World Cup.

"We are hopeful however that in the next two to three years, foreign buyers particularly from the UK, Europe and the US will start making some moves towards our shores."
