Auckland property prices nudge up again in June
There were 994 properties sold by Barfoots in June, the highest number in five years. By the end of the month it had 4,078 properties available for sale - its lowest number in nearly seven years.
Barfoot and Thompson chief executive Wendy Alexander said June average prices were up 1.2 per cent from May and 8.5 per cent from the average price for the whole of last year.
"While the market is active and prices are at an all-time high, properties that are selling way in excess of CV remain the exception," said Alexander.
"For most properties, prices are edging up, and the average sales price in June was 3.2 per cent above the average price in March, which is a modest increase over the three months given the tight supply of properties.
